Turn Heads - Dem Franchize Boyz (feat. Lloyd)
October 15, 2008 | Author: John Paz
Dem Franchize Boyz are back with another hit single “Turn Heads”, and this time, they bring in “Street Love” Lloyd to help them out.
If you’re keeping track, most of the So So Def artists’ songs have been about ridin’ old school cars with really big rims. You can’t really knock it, but it sells, and for the most part they are at least creative with it.
Well, this song is primarily about cars with big rims… oh wait, yes it is. But you would never know it from their word choices and varied delivery. I mean let’s face it, you can only come out with a song about one topic multiple times if you’re changing something up and doing it all well.
The spin in this song isn’t just about rims, it’s about making people look your way when you pass. See, not technically about big rimmed cars, just about how they make people act. That’s different, right?
Even though Dem Franchize Boyz struggle a bit with creativity, they have brains in their production and management personnel. Putting Lloyd on the track made this song go a completely different direction than their previous songs, making this a song you can vibe with your significant other to (in opposed to jumping around the club and punching someone in the stomach, like their other songs make you want to do).
So the switch up is nice, even though if you look really hard they haven’t switched much up at all in terms of lyrics. But the beat is great and Lloyd adds definition to this track, making it a great single for album “Our World, Our Way”.
Listen to the song here.
