Thr33 Ringz - T-Pain
November 12, 2008 | Author: Rhydian H.M.
Prolific collaborator, R&B singer, songwriter, producer and self-proclaimed “Ringleader Man” of the music industry T-Pain brings us his third solo album “Thr33 Ringz”, following his successful sophomore album “Epiphany” (2007).
“Thr33 Ringz”, compiles a number of T-Pain’s tracks in which he electronically adjusts his vocals using Auto-Tune technology. The album includes several super star collaborations such as with Ludacris, Chris Brown, Akon, Kanye West, amongst many others.
The first track of the album, “Ringleader Man”, sets up the concept of the album of T-Pain leading the music industry or “circus”, as represented in of the naming of some of the tracks, and the album’s title, “Thr33 Ringz”. “Ringleader Man”, with a relaxed beat tempo and a circus based melody, is one of the few tracks in which T-Pain’s electronically adjusted voice doesn’t have his typical robotic pitch.
The album includes the hit single “I Can’t Believe It”, which peaked at No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. In the release, T-Pain soulfully sings about his love for a girl, with Lil Wayne offering a more lusty contribution. The track has a cool medley of rhythm and beat, superbly harmonized by the lyrics of the Pain and Wayne.
The album features two more popular releases you’ll probably already be aware of: “Chopped N’ Skrewed”, T-Pain’s second single and third on the track list, in which he teams up with Ludacris to complain about being deceived and dumped by women; and “Freeze”, the third single and seventh on the list, featuring Chris Brown, as the pair flirt invitations to the dance floor by boasting their skills.
Non released tracks to highlight include: “Karaoke”, heavily featuring DJ Khaled, aggressive in beat and content, with the highlight being a brief break beat performance by Khaled; “It Aint Me”, featuring Akon and T.I, providing a party track beat with the trio weighing in about being put off by girls that ask for “everything”.
“Change”, a 5 minute track with a sweet melody and subject in which Akon, Diddy and Mary J.Blige join forces to sing about what positive things there would be if they could change the world; and “Digital” featuring Tay Dizm and epitomizes T-Pain’s taste for electronic influences in his production, with a number of digital sounds blending on top of a cool beat, making an enjoyable listen.
“Thr33 Ringz” had its awaited release on November 11 after being billed for September 11 and with a mult-star cast, T-Pain is sure to have another hit album to follow “Epiphany”.
