Shone - Flo Rida (feat. Pleasure P)

“Shone” is the second single of Flo Rida’s upcoming sophomore album “R.O.O.T.S”, billed to be out on April 7 and follows promptly after his lead release “Right Round”, which came out on February 1.
The single was produced by Jim Jonsin and Dre & Vidal and the track brings a highly diverse, techno-rap beat, often varying in cadence and base. Lyrically, Flo Rida shows his lust for a girl and gets to the “action” (or “shone”), with the help of guest Pleasure P.
With a quick flow throughout, Flo Rida gets going on the first verse, describing what his desires and plans are. He uses ample innuendo, spitting “I think I’m ready for more, so shorty see ya thong, that body is what I want” and “I’m gonna take it to the top, I’m gonna take you to the spot”. Later, Flo Rida throws away the innuendo and replaces it with more direct lyrics to describe the sexual desires and pleasures the guy has for the girl.
Pleasure P slows things down, taking the chorus and infusing a more subtle vocal flow. He sings about the allure of the girl “Cuz from the way that you dancing, I know you got it going on tonight”. He later boasts about the guys wealth and intent to spend it in the club, with “Shorty’s wanna holla…walk in the club, and we gonna toss a couple dollars.”
“Shone” was released on February 24 on iTunes (check it out here) and has reached No. 12 on the U.S. Bubbling Under R&B/Hip Hop singles chart.
