One More Drink - Ludacris (Co-starring T-Pain)

October 30, 2008 | Author: Rhydian H.M.

“King of the south”, Ludacris is back in October with “One More Drink”, his second single release of the month, following “Undisputed”, which was released on October 14. “One More Drink” is his fourth release of his upcoming album “Theater of the Mind”, due to be out on November 25.

In “One More Drink”, Ludacris again teams up with T-Pain, following their recent collaboration on T-Pain’s “Chopped N’ Screwed’ from his latest album “Thr33 Ringz”. They deliver a typically Ludacris-like comical theme, rapping about the drunken debauchery’s that will take place after one more drink, such as “grab the camera phone, and take a buncha’ drunk pictures”. The single has a nice beat, tempo and comical lyrics, so it’s sure to be popular in the clubs.

Ludacris approaches “a nice round butt” in “da club” and given his state, perseveres despite amusingly recounting that “her face was aight, she had a gap tooth and mean overbite”. T-Pain is direct throughout, insisting “If I take one more drink, I’m gon’ end up f***in’ you”. Ludacris is sure we should follow his comically unscrupulous lead, announcing “people too picky these days, d*mmit” with “have a couple of drinks and quit discriminating”.

Ludacris and T-Pain have come together to make a very enjoyable track that you can easily bounce to with a smile on your face, entertained by the frivolity of the content. We can expect more collaborations from them, if not only for their neighbouring southern roots bringing them together.

“One More Drink” was released on iTunes on October 28 (listen to it here) and, within these few days, it has reached number 89 in the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart and is surely set to rise quickly.
