“Heartless”, is multi Grammy Award-winning Kanye West’s second release of his fourth album, “808s & Heartbreak”, due to be out on November 25, and follows “Love Lockdown” [read review here], to contribute to the album’s hopes of living up to the huge success of his previous multi-award winning album “Graduation” [read review here].
In “Heartless”, Kayne continues his use of Auto-Tune technology used on “Love Lockdown”, to produce singing vocals, rather than rap, and marks more forays by Kanye into (what could arguably be called) pop music.
The single has a sad theme and a well tuned downbeat melody to match, as Kayne tells “the coldest story ever told” about his broken heart from “a woman so heartless” and his resultant solitude despite the abundance of friends, singing “But the end it’s still so lonely”, all of which leave a chillingly unhopeful feeling towards romance and the after-effects of a break-up, as highlighted by his prediction “And we just gon’ be enemies”.
Kanye also expresses his feeling of not understanding throughout, asking “How could you be so heartless?” and “Why does she be so mad at me fo”, as well as telling “Homie, I dont know, she’s hot and cold”, to add confusion his sadness.
“Heartless” was released on iTunes store on November 4, and has entered the US Bill Board Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart to reach No. 88 after its first day, marking the popularity that is likely due for this latest installment of Kayne’s decent vocal quality.

i so much love this song and F anybody who hatin on Mr. West’s new sound he’s different get over your self. My man really got off.
I feel you j.c. baby. I wasn’t so sure of Kanye’s single “Heartless” at first, because it sounded so different than anything else he had previously done. But I’m totally down for the new sounds of Heartless and “Love Lockdown” now. They are tight.
