Get Like Me (Stuntin Is a Habit) - David Banner (feat. Chris Brown)

July 12, 2008 | Author: John Paz

Anyone familiar with the club scene and has heard this song knows how some of the young ladies tend to dance to it… lets all give David Banner a hand for coming through with a fresh southern-style bass and clap track that people like to bounce dey booties to.

Mississippi’s finest sure makes you want to get fresh before stepping out the door, and add Chris Brown’s sound and appeal and this song seems like it was tailor-made for the radio. And even though the hook is catchy, no one is ever going to accuse David Banner of being sophisticated because of this track. What the song does it does well, and that is make you want to dance and check yourself in the mirror like you got a new haircut.

Yung Joc throws down on the hook, which ironically makes you want to start jockin’, go figure.

Jim Jones is on the track too apparently, but it’s hard to figure out where. Jones does what he always does, throws out adlibs. He usually can at least say something witty to get a chuckle, but here he just blends in and tosses in some overused catch phrases and simplistic rhyming. Chris Brown can sing, Banner can write, but Jones adds nothing to the song.

David Banner has apparently caught the movie bug and has lined up a couple small roles in the upcoming films The Christmas and Days of Wrath. Banner decided to take acting lessons after he shot the video for his song “Like A Pimp.
