Christmas Song - Jim Jones & Skull Gang (feat. Juelz Santana)

December 24, 2008 | Author: Rhydian H.M.

“Christmas Song” is the eighth track off the joint album by Jim Jones & Skull Gang “A Tribute to Bad Santa (Jim Jones & Skill Gang Present) [Starring Mike Epps]” released earlier last month.

Jim Jones is living two lives it seems, as he worked on the Skull Gang and Dipset affiliate album of this song, while also simultaneously working on his upcoming fourth solo album “Pray IV Reign” set be released in early 2009. In “Chrismas Song”, Jim Jones is joined by fellow New York and Dipset rapper Juelz Santana, who is working on his third album “Born to Lose, Built to Win” due out next year.

In “Christmas Song” Jim Jones and Juelz Santana comically play-bargain with a girl, hoping to give her Christmas gifts in exchange for sexual or romantic returns. The track has a great vibe, with a bumping beat on top of a well integrated Arab melody.

Lyrically, Jim Jones’ starts the stream of quality flow, opening the hook with “I don’t want presents, I don’t want gifts, I just want you to come and wrap your lips around me”, before Juelz Santana adds “I might buy presents, I might buy clothes, but first she gotta’ make me ho-ho-ho”. The girl responds to the duo “Buy me presents, buy me gifts and I might come and wrap my lips around you”.

Lyrical treats throughout this song are exemplified by Juelz Santana with:

“Sana-San-Santana, they all tryina’ get me to come to they house and crawl down they chimney; hell, wrap your lips and tongue around me and I’ll slide my gift right under your tree”.

And Jim Jones doesn’t drop the standard either, rapping:

“All I want for Christmas is some kisses from the misses, we standing over the mistletoe, she messing up her lips, but she kissin’ over the midget, I love the way she did it, I wanna bend her ahead and it’s gona be a good Christmas”

“Christmas Song” was released with the album on November 2 (listen to it here), just in time to spice up the cold festive days with hot lyrics and great wordplay from the Dipset duo.
