Interview With Deuce Maxwell
January 15, 2009 | Author: OfficiallyHipHop
You just got a new deal with Jake Records. How did this come about?
Deuce: Well they peeped the bootleg version of the album and liked it. We then talked for about two days, then did the deed, and then we all met out in Vegas and partied and it was a wrap after that.
Releasing a debut album is not always an easy task. What’s the hardest thing for first time artists like you, in releasing it?
Deuce: I would say the hardest thing would be promotion, exposure, visibility and any other synonyms I could think of. But I thank you and sites like these for looking out for new artists…it does help.
What is your next step after you release your debut album?
Deuce: Well I’m always producing, so I plan on having my hands into a few projects and try to pull some new artists into the fold. I’m getting started on a project with my cat El DeBarge Jr., who I personally think can do it in a real big way once we’re done. I also just cut a record for an artist named Sabrina, who is a pop artist coming out on a major very shortly.
